Tuya Tumurjav graduated from the Irkutsk University in Russia, in 1981 as a philologist. She earned a masters and PhD degree in Linguistics at the University of Humanities in Mongolia. Her research areas include Medical Discourse and Medical Writing. She has published over 40 articles relating to teaching the Russian and English languages and 10 course books with her colleagues.

She serves as an editor of the Board of Journal of Health Sciences and is a member of the Commission of Medical Terminology at MNUMS.
